BF6 Gamers Concur: Tasks Are Overly Demanding
The launch of the highly anticipated Battlefield 6 received significant enthusiasm, especially for its premier multiplayer mode. Just on Steam, simultaneous player numbers surged to nearly 750,000. Yet, regardless of its fanfare, a growing number of players are voicing discontent with some of the game's toughest challenges, which are required to obtain particular firearms.
Users have commenced resorting to personalized games made via the custom game tool to finish these tasks, emphasizing just how demanding these assignments have become.
Grasping BF6 Tasks
Tasks represent Battlefield 6's ongoing multiplayer objectives, different from the frequently updated everyday and weekly missions. It features four classes of assignments, but where most merely grant skins and a few gadgets, completing the weapon assignments is the only way of acquiring a dozen out of forty-one main guns available in the game.
Several of these gated guns could shortly make their appearance on lists of the finest arms in Battlefield 6.
Player Outcry across Reddit
On Reddit, players are justifiably voicing their concerns about how difficult and grindy a number of these challenges are. One user emphasized one of the most outrageous examples, mandatory for acquiring the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Neutralize 300 foes with LMGs
- Deal 10,000 close-range damage with LMGs
"This mission is so terrible and totally unreasonable, I want to tear my hair out," is a quote that summarizes just how frustratingly difficult these tasks are.
The suppression feature in the game is less effective than in previous titles in the series, so it doesn't have anywhere near as many benefits in combat as it had in previous games. It only counts as suppression if you fail to hit several consecutive shots.
At the same time, using an LMG from the hip is extremely unreliable and functions solely at point-blank proximity, which is not usually a position you aim to be. That player also highlighted the irony in the SMG challenge, needed to obtain the SCW-10, which demands eliminations when scoped in, when that challenge would be much better suited to hipfire kills, and the other way around.
Another Overly Demanding Task
One more community participant pointed out another ridiculously tough challenge, this time in the sniper rifle category to unlock the PSR:
- Secure 150 precision takedowns beyond 200 meters with marksman guns
This is challenging enough by itself, but there's an additional crucial factor to consider: most Battlefield 6 maps fail to facilitate combat at that kind of range.
There exists a reasonable assortment of map sizes, but given there are merely nine levels in the game at present, it restricts you to playing one of the larger locales, another expansive area, and perhaps a classic map if you're lucky if you aim to take long-range shots from over 200m away.
The Alternative Method
Nevertheless, a method exists: the portal. The custom game creator is a tool that allows you to create personalized matches on the battleground of your choice, featuring computer-controlled players. This means you can cheese the system… but it doesn't exactly feel like the intended gameplay experience.
But when doing the challenges in a normal session appears to work against fun, since you have to play in such an atypical style that doesn't benefit you or your team, is it surprising for grinding them out in a custom game so squad members are not disadvantaged?
Future Adjustments
It should not be shocking if some of these assignments are toned down in the coming days or weeks, because unless they are modified, some players simply will never acquire the restricted guns.
Currently, the community continues to share their thoughts on these challenging multiplayer missions, anticipating a more balanced gaming experience in coming revisions.
