Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard courts

A revitalized the Russian player claimed his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition title decider.

Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has experienced a challenging period, achieving just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the New York tournament.

His varied form on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in specific - led to him dropping out of the top ten and eventually separating with long-time mentor Cervara.

Now working with his coach and Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually advanced in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought competitive triumph over challenger Moutet.

It is his initial title since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt after March of 2023.

Success also means the Russian has achieved 21 victories at 21 distinct tournaments.

"For the first time I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to secure a title is really nice," stated world number 14 the champion.

"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I won when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six finals, including in the German tournament earlier this year.

The player's counter-punching play style and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had caused observers to wonder if his skill to compete at the top level was concluded.

However the player has made changes in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and perform aggressively, reinforced by an better serve.

The champion came back from a deficit in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, taking 4 of the final five points to go ahead.

The pair swapped break points in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first professional title, took control to create a third set.

He rescued four initial chances in a tight deciding set before Medvedev won the break to 15 to close out the victory.

Fittingly, the winner earned the title with a shot at the front of the court, with the Frenchman failing to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
